  3. The dried river beds are impassable to
  4. vehicles due to the steep embankments.
  5. There are, however, two methods by which
  6. vehicles can cross.
  7.  
  8. 1) Sufficient firepower will "crater" the
  9. embankments, making them safe to cross 
  10. without suffering damage.
  11.  
  12. 2) TRL units are both large and heavy enough
  13. to ram into the embankments which will also
  14. "crater" the area, smoothing out the angle
  15. of the slope.  While this can damage the TRL,
  16. it is a fast and effective way to cross dried
  17. riverbeds without sacrificing firepower.  This
  18. method should be avioded if the TRL is already
  19. heavily or critically damaged.
